Hellux Construktions-Licht GmbH (previously ConLicht) and Hellux GmbH are two of the oldest and best-established luminaire manufacturers in Germany. The family business of ConLicht was founded in 1891 by Rudolf Conrad in Berlin. The history of Hellux in Hanover goes back to the year 1895. Today, both companies stand side by side and are focusing on a promising future. ConLicht – the fourth generation of lighting. The history of ConLicht begins in the year 1891. At that time, master girdler Rudolf Conrad founded the company of Franz R. Conrad in Berlin. Whereas initially, only internal lights were manufactured, the business activities of the company are much broader today. Within the last few decades, Hans-Ludwig Aulig shaped the company into a strong, flexible manufacturing company with a high degree of vertical integration. Since 1984, ConLicht has been in production at its own plant in Nunsdorfer Ring 20 in Berlin. In 1985, the family business was restructured, expanded and continued under the name of Construktions-Licht GmbH. Joachim Aulig is leading this traditional company in its fourth generation and in the last few years has laid the groundwork for a successful future. In the beginning, there was light. The story of Hellux began when Carl August Schaefer purchased the “Hannoversche Licht Anstalt“ in 1895. Five years later, he began the successful production of street luminaires for the first time. In 1973, the Hellux location was moved to Mergenthalerstraße 8 in Laatzen. Here, nearby the Hanover convention center, Hellux has created the ideal basis with its modern manufacturing facilities to respond directly to increasing demand and adapt flexibly to the needs of the market. New connections, new opportunities. In 2007, Joachim Aulig bought Hellux and started the cooperation between Construktions-Licht and Hellux using the common brand Hellux. Since autumn 2008 Construktions-Licht GmbH is operating as Hellux Construktions-Licht GmbH. From the newly created cooperation between the Berlin manufacturer on one hand and the Laatzen large-scale manufacturer on the other, valuable synergies have resulted, with the opportunity to strengthen their market position even further: The go-ahead for a successful future.
